Volunteering With Breakaway Ministries
What I learned fromt the Event?
At the Breakaway, I volunteered at Front of House directing a team of 14 creatives while capturing the event and allowing those who were seated further away to be able to see the worship leaders and speaker. This allowed me a look into the professional world of video production. Using previous knowledge as a video creative I was able to take theoretical ideas and implement those ideas to be used in a real-world scenario. Some of my ideas panned out and some failed, however overall I was able to improve my skills.

Producing A Breakaway Tuesday
What I learned fromt the Event?
Our Production Manager who typically calls all of the shots on a typical Tuesday was sick 2 hours before the show started. I became the Production Manager due to being on the team and having the extra bandwidth and expertise needed to produce a Breakaway. Some things I learned from the experience were: always ask for help when you need it, the people you are helping can tell you what they need help with, if you don’t know how it was done in the past you can always make a new way that has the same result, and things happen so be prepared for anything.
6.5 Hours

Directed Contractors and Volunteers to create an environment of worship in-line with the Organizations Mission.
Advocated for the culture of the Breakaway Production team and for interactions between contractors and volunteers.
Provided detailed times of when certain activities should occur during the process.

Volunteering With Grace Bible Church
What I learned fromt the Event?
The main thing I learned by Volunteering with Grace is how different an organization can operate compared to other similar organizations. Compared to Breakaway, Grace has a campus that it is able to meet at without having to load-in or load-out. This gives its volunteers a unique space to get to serve without having to constantly be trouble shooting issues that may have occurred while setting up their system. I now understand how different it is to walk into an event that needs to be set up versus entering a space that is prepared for you. An example could be having a meeting in a board room versus moving the meeting to an expo center that does not have regular meetings like the board room.
12 Hours
3 Events
Produced quality services on Sunday Mornings
Lead a team of 3 to 4 to execute lighting, video, and audio cues
Developed volunteers to be self sufficient and capable technichians
Purpose of the Event?
Sunday morning gatherings at Grace Bible Church exist to provide a space for believers to receive teaching from church leaders and for non-believers to have a space to explore their faith. By providing this space people are able to grow in their faith and to serve fellow believers in Christ.

Volunteering With Century Square Trick or Treating
What I learned fromt the Event?
At Century Square I signed up to be a crosswalk attendant and I learned a massive amount of information. I did not know prior to volunteering what went into being a crosswalk attendant and how dangerous it is exactly for kids to cross the street without supervision. At the event, I learned how to safely cross kids, how stressful it can be to have a line of cars waiting for kids to cross, and how fast kids will run across a street without looking. In the future, I will appreciate cross walk attendants more and be more willing to wait on them while they escort kids to safety. I will also make sure to include crosswalk attendants in any plans that require them so there are no accidents in the future.

This provides kids who are underprivileged or disabled a place to go they may not always have.

Big Dinner
What I learned fromt the Event?
I learned the importance of having a welcoming attitude and how hard it can be to smile when doing what feels like grunt work. As an Usher, I was responsible for seating people at tables in an orderly fashion so people were able to cycle through tables. As tables finished eating it was my job to clean the table and bring more people in to eat at the tables.
